What Are Hemp Pills or Capsules?
The best CBD Capsules contain the same high-quality CBD Extract that we use in all of our other products, this time it's just made into a pill form instead of a tincture, treat, or chew. The simple reason for this is that some pets prefer this method. The Full spectrum CBD Oil is our most popular and it allows for precise dosing with the dropper but CBD capsules are great for pets who do not like the taste of oils and need more concentrated CBD than is provided with our treats.
Full-spectrum CBD capsules transform high-quality hemp from its more common oil form and implement an ingestible alternative for your pup. Because we use hempseed oil instead of the more industry common MCT oil( coconut oil), be confident that your dog is getting the additional benefits of the fatty acids and essential amino acids.
You can be assured that these CBD capsules contain the same premium Hemp extract that is used for all of our products. This means that you are getting the same effective usage out of our CBD pills. For many pets, it is a good idea to wrap the capsule in cheese or other food that they can eat in one bite, or you can sprinkle it on top of their regular food.

How Can Hemp CBD Capsules Help my Dog?
The Endocannabinoid advantage
Hemp CBD Capsules work in the same way that all of our other products do, they target the endocannabinoid system. All animals (except insects) have this system and although it's activated naturally, we can supplement this activation for increased reactions. This system is no different than other systems like the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems. The difference with the endocannabinoid system is the overall effect that it has on the body and homeostasis.
When the endocannabinoid system is activated it allows for enhanced communication within the other systems of the body which has shown to increase the efficiency of the body. This can prove to be a great advantage for many reasons which is why a lot of people look into hemp extracts and CBD products for their dogs.
Why does this system give an advantage?
The blend of anti-inflammatories contains omega fatty acids which can be effective in reducing all types of inflammation. This may help with issues like muscle pain and joint health. It is completely safe and effective for use in multiple situations which makes it a viable option for your dogs and cats. When introducing cannabinoids such as CBD, THC, CBN & CBG to the endocannabinoid system, they give the necessary uptick in system efficacy as they stimulate the receptors. In turn, the system ramps up it's function to drive other systems in the body towards homeostasis or in laymen terms, balance. As noted before, we do have natural ways within the body to keep this system going but these additional cannabinoids is like giving more fuel to a fire which will in conclusion make the fire burn hotter and larger. Cannabis sativa from marijuana and legal hemp both have cannabinoids to fuel this system.
CBD Pills vs CBD Oil
In whole hemp plant extract oil, you can think of CBD as the leader with the other cannabinoids and terpenes promoting its ability to work most effectively in the organism’s system. Cannabidiol (CBD) largely works with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is a series of receptors and endocannabinoids found in internal systems such as the nervous system or the immune, as well as in essentially every organ.
When using the oil , it is directly absorbed into the blood stream bypassing the digestive system for a quicker effect. Whereas, ingesting a CBD pill or capsule will encounter the digestive system and will be broken down by acids in the stomach. Thankfully, the other cannabinoids, terpenes and additional ingredients protect the compound and allow the liver the process the CBD completely. This is especially true of Full Spectrum and broad spectrum CBD products. The main difference between the 2 will be the quickness of the effect. CBD isolate will skip the digestive process and go straight to the liver for a quick response but they do not carry the benefits or "entourage effect" of the other cannabinoids so there isn't as much of a health benefit as full spectrum CBD but you will still receive benefit, although not as long lasting.
The Compound Structure of CBD
CBD protects endocannabinoids, such as anandamide, from prematurely breaking down before they can attach to endocannabinoid receptors. The attachment between cannabinoids and receptors plays a vital role in the biological response and an organism's ability to naturally protect and repair a wide range of biological functions such as Immune system response, mood stability, appetite, neuroprotective, and oxidation of the cells. As you can see , the structure of CBD is naturally designed to protect the systems in the body and bind to those receptors, it's as if all animals were designed to use these natural remedies
A lot of research and development is being conducted around the Hemp Industry right now. Due to the major impact that it is having on the consumer market, you can be assured that it is being well studied and documented. At Innovet Pet we also make sure to treat every product with quality and care at each point of the production process. This is the benefit of having your own facility for manufacturing and your own formula for CBD, we know exactly how it's made and what goes in it; Hemp oil and CBD. Nothing else is added to our formula.
All-Natural sourced Ingredients
We source only the highest quality CBD from Industrial Hemp plants in order to make sure that the THC level within the plant is at its lowest from the starting point. The reason for this is because THC is the problematic cannabinoid in CBD/Hemp production because it's controversial, euphoric nature and history. This compound, that is also within the cannabis sativa plant, is what creates legal and medical contradictions. THC is the factor within the marijuana/hemp plants that create the “high” effect so making sure that this compound is THC free from the beginning can play a huge role in the quality and effectiveness of CBD products such as pills, extracts, and oils.
In-House Formulation and Production
From the start of production until the end, we control each step of the process which allows us to retain the highest quality standards. White label manufacturers have no control over this which is why quality can be inferior and prices can be higher, we have cut out the "middle man". We take the extra step in order to ensure that our products are 100% safe for our own pups. When Innovet Pet was started in 2005, we created Pet health products from our own minds, nothing was a replica or copy of any other product on the market. Our founders, Matt & Dave, were actually inventing our most early start up products as natural and easier solutions to help save their own dogs. So naturally, in 2017 when they happened to discover the benefits of CBD, they decided they would make their own as they didn't want to create a basic product that wouldn't have maximum benefits. Many companies used a cheaper version of coconut oil as a carrier but both Dave and Matt understood that even though Hemp oil was more expensive, it was still more ideal of a carrier due to it's thc free cannabinoid profile. The goal was to create the best CBD possible for their own dogs.

Dosing for my Dog
When it comes to finding the perfect dose to give your dog it can be overwhelming. Dogs come in all different shapes, sizes, and they have different needs depending on case by case situations. The good thing is that figuring this out is not as hard as it looks and we can get you the perfect CBD dose relatively quickly. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect science and that is why we have designed different CBD products such as these capsules. Some 50lb dogs might be able to handle 10 drops of oil whereas other 50lb dogs can't handle one drop of oil but the 5mg capsule is perfect. This usually has to do with that dog having a sensitive stomach. It is not the CBD the dog has a problem with bot most likely the carrier oil is too much for his stomach to handle. This dog will still need an effective dose but we don't want him throwing up all day so a capsule just might do the trick.
Tools for CBD dosing
For a nice starting point, it's good to go by weight and then move either up or down from that point depending on needs. An average dose (every 6-8 hours) we recommend about 0.2 mg CBD for every 1lb of body weight, if your dog is 50lbs then they should be getting on average 10 mg CBD every 6-8 hours (0.2mg x 50lbs = 10 mg). As a daily maximum they should not be getting more than 2.25 mg CBD per lb, so if your dog is 50lbs they should be getting a maximum of 112.5mg (2.25mg x 50lbs = 112.5mg). Remember that the daily maximum is the total for the whole day, not a single dose. Please refer to our CBD calculator for simplified dosing calculations.
Also, the dosing chart on this page will give you a general idea of how many mg CBD should be given per dose and per day. This tool helps you see if your pet requires more or less than what is recommended for an average dose. These are also capsules, you will have to figure out how many capsules to give if your pet falls in between a certain dose. Since each CBD capsule contains either 5 mg or 25 mg you will have to determine if adding or subtracting is best. We always recommend going with the lower number first if you are in between a set dose.
